Social Venture Partners Rhode Island is enormously proud of all we’ve accomplished in eight short years! We drive community solutions with investments of time, expertise and resources. The Partners have accelerated change by developing sustainability within nonprofits, empowering them to serve the community more effectively and efficiently. In striving to achieve these objectives, our Partnership has grown from six founding partners in 2000 to 27 today – and we’re just getting started! We’ve made a big difference in our community, while making new friends and having fun too.

Our Partners are a diverse group of individuals seeking to make meaningful contributions to nonprofit organizations by sharing their skills, time and financial resources. Each Partner Unit (which could be comprised of a single person or a couple) makes a two-year commitment to SVPRI, pledging a minimum of $2,500 per year. It is our goal that people who become Social Venture Partners will become part of a community of lifelong, informed and inspired philanthropists. Through engagement with Investees, connections with other SVPRI Partners, and participation in education events, Partners are inspired to reinvest and make new investments in organizations associated with SVP as well as more broadly.

In short, SVPRI is cultivating a group of more informed, engaged philanthropists!
